Marilyn helped us in a difficult time to prepare and sell a challenging home. My parents home of 40 years; it was custom built and had features which had to be matched carefully to a specific buyer. We live remotely, three hundred miles away, and trips back were costly in time, emotion and gas. Marilyn worked with us to find resources and to get the house fixed up to show. She was patient through the two month process, letting the work get done. She then orchestrated a campaign through the web and other services to get the word out. She organized multiple internal showings to other agents to create awareness and have everyone looking for a buyer to home match. Once a buyer showed interest, we negotiated quickly and closed remotely without us having to go back to the area. Her persistence, professionalism and work ethic helped us sell the home months ahead of what I thought it might take. It is quite a relief to have this phase of the estate brought to closure.

Thank you so much for all that you did for us during the home buying process, Marilyn. As first time homebuyers, we were appreciative of the attention to detail and professionalism you exhibited. Also, the level of communication between us was always very high. We will definitely recommend you to our friends. Take care and best regards.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Marilyn Robertson in the purchase of our new home in Tennessee. Marilyn was friendly and professional. She was attentive to the qualities that we were looking for in a new home and helped to find just the right one. When my sister-in-law and I went to Tennessee, Marilyn showed us around and with her help, we found just the home for my wife and I, with all the qualities we had mentioned to Marilyn took time to help my sister-in-law look at property and houses also. She was extremely helpful in sending us the necessary papers which we had to sign and in her efforts to assist in making a long-distance purchase of a house to be an easy proposition.

I would definitely recommend Marilyn Robertson to anyone who wanted to purchase a house. In fact, my sister-in-law chose Marilyn to be the agent to search for property in Tennessee in which she (my sister-in-law) might find of interest.!

Just wanted to thank you again for your work on selling our house. We are certainly happy to have that behind us. Thanks also for the wonderful goody bag, we will enjoy it.

I stopped by the house today and Linda and Cody are getting settled in and are very happy with the house. That's an answer to our prayers, someone who would love the house like we did and be a good neighbor to our friends.

Once again thanks so much for your work. We will happily recommend you to others.

Take care

Dear Marilyn, I wanted to say thank you for all the hours you poured into searching for a house that would meet my demanding requirements for space and configuration. I thought we'd never find it here, but your efforts to keep scouring the listings and visiting some of them more than several times resulted in a place we can truly enjoy.

I will eagerly recommend your services to all to whom I have the opportunity. I just hope for your sake they are easier to please than I am.

Hope you're enjoying this spring as much as I am!

My husband and I wanted to get out of the "city life". We wanted an area
that was peaceful, calm, professional and with beautiful surroundings. A
friend of ours suggested Tennessee, the Tir-Cities area. Hence, we went
looking on the internet for information. We contacted 2 realtors and
Marilyn Robertson was the one that responded with kindness,
professionalism and happiness in her words.

In the short time that we have known Marilyn and worked with her in
finding our perfect home , we have never regretted a minute or a mile
being with her. She is always on top of things, has a wealth of
information, is prompt and professional. She makes you and your needs a
priority in her life and her quest is to make you happy.

We came to Tennessee to scope out the area's with our map. We then took
the map to Marilyn for her to view with us. She listened to our needs
and wants.
In a very short while we had multiple locations to investigate. We saw a
few maybe's on the way while riding with Marilyn. She investigated
everything thoroughly and reported to us her findings, honestly and
sincerely.

Now that we have our home, with a stroke of a key and a question mark,
Marilyn is there still to help us with our many needs. My husband and I
both feel that Marilyn has truly earned her wings here on Earth. She is
a sparkling and valuable piece of gold that will never stop shining. She
loves her family, her community and enjoys what life has been so kind to
give her.

We are counting the days when we see the moving van pull up to our new
home. Our first house guest will be Marilyn and her family! Without her
we would never have found the peacefulness and the beautiful surrounding
we have longed for. We thank you Marilyn from the bottom of our hearts.

I worked closely with Marilyn for over a year for the purpose of selling a home in Hampton. The home was owned by a dear friend who died after many months of fighting cancer. Since I lived in Florida, I had to rely on Marilyn to handle not only the sale of the house but finding some one to mow the lawn, be the contact for the security company, etc. She handled all my requests promptly and professionally. The home was on the Historic Registry which presented some unique challenges. I found Marilyn to be very diligent in her efforts to sell the house and get the very best offer that the location allowed. I consider Marilyn a trustworthy friend and am so grateful that the owner chose her as the realtor. Thanks Marilyn

"Marilyn was superb in her ability to guide me to the type of house my wife and I wanted, even before we knew exactly what we wanted. She was very intuitive in her ability to sense what would fulfill our needs and feel like a home. In addition, she is a very savvy business woman, helping us attend to all of the necessary business issues in buying a house, protecting our interests in the process. We would definitely work with her again if we need another house in this region.

When my husband and I decided that we wanted to sell our house and have

a new home built, our real estate knowledge was "rusty." We'd lived in the

our home for the past twenty years, since shortly after our marriage. We knew Marilyn Robertson as an organized, efficient, and dedicated leader at our church. In addition, we had heard a glowing report about Marilyn's abilities as a Realtor from another church member, whose house Marilyn had listed and sold. We decided to ask Marilyn to list our house for us, and she handled our request promptly, courteously, and very knowledgeably. Within four days of listing our house with Marilyn, we had a signed contract! Marilyn guided us through the "pending" process without being overbearing. She answered our (many!) questions immediately, provided accurate information, and made good suggestions. Our closing went without a single glitch. We
highly recommend Marilyn as your Realtor of choice!

Marilyn Robertson's Happy Customers, Real Estate, Johnson City, Tennessee, TNMarilyn had led us to our dream house—a two-story Tudor in a beautiful established neighborhood. There was an existing contingency offer on the house by another couple, but it seemed unlikely they would be able to meet our non-contingent bid. We were so excited about the prospect of establishing our new home there. In a few short days Marilyn had taken us all over Johnson City. She had done a wonderful job in helping us clarify what our real desires in a house were and had shown us all that was available that would appeal to us, that would meet our needs. Nothing deterred Marilyn, not even record low temperatures on one of the days of our visit. In that short time, we had the lay of the land, and it looked as if we had our new home.

Then Marilyn caught us at a party the evening prior to our planned departure. The prior bidders had dropped their contingency—the house was theirs, not ours. We were going to have to face the prospect of returning to our home town without a new home in hand. But Marilyn would not let us be deterred. She convinced us that our new home was out there somewhere. We stayed an extra day. We reviewed where we had been. We took a look at one more house that Marilyn had just become aware of. That house is now our home. The previous house, the one that got away, is a good house, but our house is a great house, a great home in a great neighborhood. It is ours thanks to Marilyn.

Comments: When we visited Johnson City, Marilyn was able to do what few realtors can and that is match our lifestyle  and home choice to the exact neighborhoods around Johnson City. Marilyn was also able to show us not just one but many neighborhoods that are excellent for our family. While taking the time touring around town with Marilyn, my wife and I were impressed with how much she knew about the town, current development plans, schools, and comparisons of other surrounding towns. Marilyn is a realtor's realtor.

mm.JPG (32504 bytes)When Anne and I began considering a move to Johnson City, we knew nobody there. Without a referral to guide our way, we scanned the Internet for a Realtor -- and soon found Marilyn Robertson’s page.

I remember scrolling through the list of pledges that Marilyn makes to her prospective clients, and noting her qualifications as a "CRS," a "GRI" and a "MS+." Though I had no idea what the letters meant, I was immediately struck by three other facts in her biographical sketch: Marilyn was 1) a grandmother who 2) sang in the church choir and 3) was married to a biology professor at the college. I began to sense that, above all else, here was someone solid -- a person we could trust.

As a newspaper reporter, however, I am a skeptic by training. (The first rule of journalism: If your mother tells you she loves you, check it out.) So I had to be convinced.

Having now bought and sold a house with Marilyn as the agent, I am happy to report my initial impression was correct. Marilyn was a model of professionalism from beginning to end, and Anne and I recommend her highly to anyone. She knew the Tri-Cities market. She listened to our requirements (and was patient as they evolved). She answered our questions in a straight-forward way and never applied pressure. When she called one day to say she had found the perfect house, she was right. And when we decided to sell the house, we had a signed contract three weeks later. Marilyn was unflappable throughout, never blinking even when Anne, who was nine months pregnant, began to experience strong contractions. (In fact, we sold our house the day the baby came.)

Anne and I know Marilyn as a Realtor with savvy, integrity and the highest standards. And she really does sing in the church choir. I checked.

If you want to sell and to sell now, Marilyn should be your agent. She was relentless in moving my property and honest in her evaluation of its worth. She did not stop there. She was instrumental in helping me find a new home in Knoxville. Charles Humpston (e-mail - CHumpston@aol.com)

In February 2000, we decided to put our home on the market and relocate to the Tri-Cities, TN area. In searching the internet, the only hit for real estate agents got us to Marilyn Robertson. As you can imagine, getting only one name was a scary thought.

After contacting Marilyn and meeting with her, all the fears went away. She proved to be honest, efficient, professional, knowledgeable, articulate, friendly  and willing to work hard to help us find the ideal home in her area. She supported us through ups and downs of offers and counteroffers which did not result in a sale.

While we were unsuccessful with our venture to move, we would highly recommend that anyone wishing to move to Tri-Cities contact Marilyn. You will get excellent support and the right person to help you find your new home. If our plans change in the future, she will be our agent of choice.
